Yoga For Recovery
An all-levels yoga class for the community every Tuesday at 4pm at New Hope Lutheran Church (29295 Agoura Rd., Agoura Hills, CA 91301). The class begins with 50 minutes of Vinyasa-style yoga and ends with 10 minutes of voluntary participation (sharing). The class brings the healing benefits of yoga to men and women in addiction recovery through physical postures and breath work specifically designed to open, harmonize, and heal areas of the body where tension and emotions are stored, specifically the throat (self-expression, lack of trust, confidence), shoulders (burdens, responsibility), chest (sorrow, grief, loss), pelvis (sexual issues, conditioning), hips (betrayal, abandonment, judgment), lower back (resentments, anger, financial insecurity), and core (fears, control issues). Classes are free, however, donations will be accepted to cover expenses. Yoga Alliance-certified teacher Brian Hyman (www.brianhymanyoga.com) will lead the classes. All recovery groups welcome.
