Harakati Movement, Los Angeles
Harakati Movement offers a comprehensive experience of high vibration healing arts focused on all aspects of wellness including yoga and meditation, breathwork, sound healing, and even painting and sculpting. T. Dorje Immanuel, the principal owner of Harakati Studios, had a vision to introduce these healing arts for inner city communities to experience wellness at affordable prices. The center offers donation-based ($10 suggested) ongoing classes and a number of innovative workshops as well as co-op memberships for people looking for a friendly space to teach.
Dorje says, “The intention was to create a pocket of love within the inner city. We are painting the perception of kindness, positivity and love, and we want to hold that space for the community.” The Harakati management team, led by partial owner Aura Potier, understands that inner city lives are impacted by a number of unique experiences and challenges.
Harakati’s mission is to provide a space for healing. Their motto is “Join the Movement,” of promoting wellness; the aim is to provide a platform based on love and positivity and to share that energy with the community.
In addition, Harakati is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and habits through education, and offering delicious vegan food that is also great for the environment. Named for the Swahili word meaning “movement,” Harakati itself is a movement as much as it is a studio space.
