Organic Soap Bakery, Calabasas
When we consider how we cleanse our skin, it’s important to be aware of the ingredients in the soaps that we use. Organic Soap Bakery Founders Aida Caefer and Beatrice Laver take this to heart and have created recipes for a line of carefully crafted soaps made from organic ingredients.
Aida and Beatrice are both from Romania and found a mutual synergy in their passion for holistic skin care for themselves and their families. Aida is a registered nurse and Ayurvedic practitioner and Beatrice a stylist and former ballerina whose own skin has been improved by switching what she uses from harsh detergent-based soaps to handmade, nontoxic options.
The duo sources raw materials from around the world, including Rose and Green clay from France, Bentonite clay from India, Rhassoul clay from Morocco, and Cambrian blue clay from Siberia. Pure essential oils provide the nourishing scents. The hand-made soaps are cold-pressed, vegan, biodegradable; and free of parabens, soy, and sodium laurel sulfate. They make circular bar soaps that also serve as shaving bars and shampoo. Check out their bath bombs and body butters as well.
More than simply healthy bars of soap, the Organic Soap Bakery line of products includes artisanal crafted designs that are colorful additions to add a designer spa-at-home feel in a bathroom. In addition to their intricate hand-painted designs that include masterful multi-layered truffles, cookies and chocolate milk, mini baskets of flowers, and more, they do custom work. Their gifts are both works of art and practical—as they nourish the skin. Beatrice’s styling background is evident in everything from the soap designs to the reusable wooden boxes. For special occasions like Mother’s Day or baby and bridal showers, these are even better than chocolate.
